The JMLR is devoted to excellence in matters relating to academic integrity, transparency and ethical publication. The responsibility for ensuring that good scholarly practices are followed throughout the entire publishing process lies with researchers, reviewers and the editors.
Authors
Authors should:
- Provide only original material.
- Plagiarism in any form is not allowed.
- Proper citation of all references is required.
- Any potential conflict of interest must be declared.
- All listed authors must have contributed significantly to the work.
Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Carry out unbiased assessments.
- Ensure confidentiality during the entire process of reviewing.
- Provide constructive criticism.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest.
- Submit reviews within the deadline.
Editors
Responsibilities of editors include:
- Ensuring that editorial decisions are made objectively.
- Keeping confidentiality.
- Fairly handling the peer review process.
- Avoiding conflicts of interest.
- Encouraging ethical publication.
- Dealing with any ethical issues that come up.
Plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, and any other unethical behavior can lead to rejection, correction, or withdrawal of the published paper.
